English Lesson : Passive Voice
Hi, friend! Maybe it’s the first time i use english for this blog. Hahaha… i think no. The first post that use english here. haha…
I got this from my sister class presentation… Sorry, if my english didn’t very well… Oke, i want to tell you about the passive voice. Maybe you have got it from another source, haha… i just want to share…
- Characteristics
The characteristics of passive voice are
- The object of an active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence
- Intransitive (don’t use object) verbs like happen, seem, etc can’t be used in the passive voice
- How To Make a Passive Voice?
Follow this steps…
- Find out the tenses of the sentence to make the to be
- Change the object of the active sentence become the subject of the passive voice
- Check the subject, is it plural or singular? It’s to make the to be too
- Pattern
The pattern of the passive voice is
Subject + to be + Past Participle (Verb 3)
- Example
- Simple Present (Subj + verb + obj)
I drive a car becomes A car is driven by me
Are you confuse?? i think no, okay!! If you still confuse, continue reading to get another explanation
- Present Continous (Subj + to be + verb + ing + obj)
I am driving a car becomes A car is being driven by me
I can get an explanation here. I(subj) am(to be) driving(verb + ing) a car(object), its in active voice… why A car is being driven by me as a passive voice from this?
A car is change from an object in active becomes a subject in passive.
is is a to be of the car
being driven is a verb. We must add being in this tense. Why?? I don’t know better if you ask my sister class… haha…
Ow yeah… for another example, you can find out by yourself… see ya…
